Kranis in the Philippines: When Remote Becomes Real

Working with people across borders is at the heart of how we build brands at Kranis. Our team spans time zones, cultures, and perspectives — and most of the time, we make it all work from behind screens. But this March, we turned our digital Slack huddles into real-life high-fives during an unforgettable team trip to the Philippines.

We met up in Davao City, home to part of our global remote team. It was more than just a company trip — it was about connection, understanding, and sharing culture in a way video calls never could.

One of the highlights? A day on the water at Samal Island. Clear skies, boat rides, and snorkeling in turquoise water reminded us how lucky we are to work with people we genuinely enjoy spending time with. But the fun didn’t stop there!

The next day was all about bonding and growth. We kicked off with a team session on working across cultures — learning how to better collaborate, communicate, and respect different working styles and perspectives. That flowed into hands-on team-building challenges, from building structures in small team competitions to guiding teammates through blindfolded obstacle walks. And yes — we closed it out with some friendly fire in a round of paintball.

What we took home: stronger trust, better understanding of each other’s backgrounds, and memories that made us laugh until we couldn’t breathe.

Because when you work remotely, building real relationships takes effort — and moments like these matter.
